Creating a Program Team that can attend to learning goals and program outcomes
Executing a complex program like DIG CAMP requires a team with a variety of expertise, skills, and institutional affiliations. It is possible that one person may wear multiple hats, but each of the following areas must be covered by someone on the team for programmatic success:
- Effective practices in Diversity, Equity, Justice, Access, Inclusion, and Belonging
- Geosciences expertise
- Working with teens, and specifically those from the populations you plan to engage
- Connections to local community-based organizations
- Pedagogical expertise (science and data literacy)
- Expertise to train and support near-peer undergraduate mentors
- Connections to the lab or university
- District representative who can support recruitment and ensure the program is valued by the district
